Bayard "Bay" Schindel Watkins, Jr., 78, of Danbury, died Friday, July 14, at his residence.
Born May 26, 1928, in Missouri, he was the son of Bayard S., Sr. and Maudie Pearl Camp Watkins.
Survivors include his children, Melinda Fultz and husband, Gordon, of Oxford, Ind., Keith Watkins and wife, Jennie, of Plainfield, Ill., Donald Watkins and wife, Cindy, of Lockport, Ill., Lequetta Smith and husband, Rick, of Danbury and Diane Mendoza and husband, Michael, of Richwood; four brothers, Charles, Alvin, Schindel and Mike Watkins; three sisters, Stella Gill, Ida Criswell and Kathleen Deweese; eight grandchildren, Clayton, Becky, Teresa, David, Kally, Jeremy, Amanda and Randy and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Thursday, July 20, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville, Mo., with the Rev. Jim Mack Malone officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Family members served as pallbearers.
