Born March 19, 1920, in Pharr, Texas, son of the late Anton and Leona Carel Hentges, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. He was a farmer and a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and the Jobe-Elliott American Legion Post #17.
Survivors include one brother, Bernard Hentges, Senath, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Henrietta Hentges of Kansas City, Mo.; nine nephews, and four nieces.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, July 28, with a Prayer Service at 5 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, Mo.
Mass of Christian burial with full military honors will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2006 at Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo. with Father Henry Reichert officiating.
