Guy Martin Blackwell, 92, of Benton, Mo., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Monday, July 17, 2006, at his residence.
Born June 5, 1914, at Kinfolks Ridge in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of the late Duke Blaine and Pearl Lee Wyatt Blackwell, he was a farmer and a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Benton.
On Dec. 24, 1939, he married Carrie Lorena Bush, who survives.
Survivors also include three daughters, Trena Novak, of Benton, Sherry Baldwin, of Corona, Calif., and Terry Mirgeaux and husband, Jimmy, of Kelso, Mo.; two grandchildren, Jason Francis, of Corona and Katie Mirgeaux, of Kelso and three great-grandchildren, Michael, Grayson and Madison Francis, all of Corona.
He was preceded in death by one brother, R.C. Blackwell and two sisters, Eulala Blackwell and his twin, Marie Gale.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 21, at the Glass Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Mirgeaux, Jason, Michael and Grayson Francis, Wayne Parker and David Englin.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
