Jimmy Dale "J.D." Hollis, 62, of Steele, Mo., died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at his residence.
Born Sept. 5, 1943, in Wilson, Ark., son of the late Washington Leon and Rozella Irene Parsons Hollis, he was employed at Trinity Barge Fabrication in Caruthersville, Mo.
On April 20, 1979, at Cottonwood Point, Mo., he married Karen Beck, who survives.
Survivors also include three daughters, Becky Hollis, of Dexter, Mo., Rachael Hollis, of Clarkton, Mo., and Nicki Davis and husband, David, of Steele; one son, Jonathan Hollis and wife, Shelly, of Caruthersville; three sisters, Mary Jo Butler, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Kathy Parr, of West Plains, Mo., and Virginia Cross, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Hollis.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Tuesday, July 25, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with the Rev. Eugene Pool officiating.
Burial was in the Portageville, Mo. Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Perry Armstrong, Kenny Goodale, Robert Gunnar, Brent McClendon, Kevin Britton and Jerry Cook.
Honorary pallbearers were David Butler and John Goodman.
