Barry David Gestring, 27, of Steele, Mo., died Friday, July 14, 2006 at his residence.
Born May 1, 1979 in Blytheville, Ark, a son of Dennis Gestring, and Vickie Autry Carney, he graduated from South Pemiscot High School in 1997 and was employed by Marine Terminal in Blytheville.
Survivors include one son, Koby Gestring, of Fayetteville, Ark.; two daughters Hannah and Haley Gestring of Fayetteville Ark.; four brothers, C.J. Gestring, of Steele, Joseph and Nicholas Carney of Thayer, Mo. and Shane Carney of Orlando, Fla.; two sisters, Racheal Griggs of Cooter, Mo., and Candi Parrent of Memphis, Tenn.; his father, Dennis Gestring and stepmother, Cheryl, of Denton, Mo., his mother Vickie Carney and stepfather, Joe, of Thayer, Mo.; and grandparents Homer and Dolly Gestring of Steele.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilma and Harvey Bradfield and Guy Autry.
Funeral Services for Mr. Gestring were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetary in Steele with Powell Funeral Home in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Jarred Handley, Phillip Lipscomb, Jerry Hinklin, Joseph Carney, Nicholas Carney, and Keith Robertson.
