R.P. Davison

Bro. R.P. Davison, 89, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born March 9, 1917, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Frank and Rose Alice Gaskin Davison, he was a minister, a principal, teacher, basketball coach, a Red Cross life guard and swimming instructor and a Boy Scout leader. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Lions Club, a member of the board of directors at Platte Valley Bible College, a member of the board of directors of Dunklin County Mental Health, a member of the library staff at Ohio State University and a member of the First Christian Church.

On June 24, 1948, in Lynchburg, Ohio, he married Dorothy Carolyn Hart, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Richard Lee Davison, of Sparks, Nev.; three daughters, Jennifer Parks, of Manitou Springs, Colo., Alice Miller and husband, Sid, of Risco, Mo., and Candi Maddox and husband, John, of Malden; six grandchildren, Kristi Westergard, Ryan Thompson, Alexis Marbury, Lindsay Miller, Lacey Winchester and Cassidy Maddox and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, July 14, at the Landess Funeral in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Moore and Mrs. Lanois Davidson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell, Mo.
