Frances Gertrude Manley, 77, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, July 7, 2006, at the Caruthersville Nursing Center.
Born Feb. 19, 1929, in Lane's Ferry, Tenn., daughter of the late J.D. Pettie and Annie Ellen Curtis, she owned and operated a retail store in Caruthersville and was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville.
On Nov. 22, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., she married James Manley, who preceded her in death on June 6, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra L. Manley and Kay Loethen, both of Caruthersville; one brother, Jimmy Chaney, of Pueblo, Colo., and two grandchildren, Kate and T.J. Loethen, both of Caruthersville.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 8, in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville with Michael McDaniel officiating.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
