Erma Gott

Erma Yvonda Gott, 75, of Wardell, Mo., died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at her residence.

Born June 13, 1931, in Pascola, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Jonah Newton and Katie Evelyn Irvin Smith.

On Oct. 18, 1946, in Pascola, she married Murrel H. Gott, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Rosemary Gott Tanner, of Coloma, Mich., Neketta Gott Hankins, of Portageville, Mo., and Robin Gott Stringer, of Desoto, Mo.; two sons, Clyde Murrel Gott, of Hillsboro, Mo., and Jerry Dawayne Gott, of Cadet, Mo.; one sister, Barbara Barber, of Tonkawa, Okla.; five brothers, Robert L. smith, of Palmdale, Calif., Charles V. LaVelle, of St. Louis, Mo., Bennie Lee Smith, of Blackwell, Okla., Jimmy Smith, of Oceanside, Calif., and Tommy Dean Smith, of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 5, at the Wardell Baptist Church with the Rev. Griff Walker officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville, Mo.

Pallbearers were John W., Jeffrey D., John D. and Ray Hankins, Bill Drennen and Aaron Porter.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
