William Harold Creech, 87, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Wardell, Mo., died Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Missouri Veterans Home of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born July 2, 1918, in Swift, Mo., son of the late Sherman and Mary Jane Fisher Creech, he was a U.S. veteran, having served in WWII, and a farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wardell and the American Legion of Caruthersville, Mo.

On Feb. 7, 1945, in Bartrop, Texas, he married Norma Horner, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Sue Ann Barriner and husband, Larry, of Poplar Bluff and two granddaughters, Larrie and Lyrra Barriner, both of Poplar Bluff.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Nelson Creech and one sister, Nellie Phillips.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., today, Wednesday, June 28, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Wardell with the Rev. Griff Walker officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
