Virginia Mae Frantzen, 80, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Center in Hayti, Mo.
Born Aug. 1, 1925, in Steele, Mo., daughter of the late Cecil C. and Carrie Alberta Lee Reed, she graduated from Braggadocio High School, employed at Brown Shoe Factory and a member of the Wesleyan Church.
On Dec. 3, 1945, in Blytheville, Ark., she married L.V. Riney, who preceded her in death. She married Frederick J. Frantzen in Kewanee, Ill., on Jan., 24, 1983. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1999.
Survivors include three daughters, Laura Jean Riney, of Dyersburg, Tenn.., Konda Faye Riggs, of Caruthersville, Mo., and Patricia Joe Fritz, of Maryland; two sons, Clyde Riney, of Van Buren, Mo., and Laurence Thomas Riney, of Lexington, Tenn.; four step-daughters; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 23, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Jim Pilcher officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
