Lula Mae Olden, 73, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born March 20, 1933, in Shaw, Ark., daughter of the late Johnny and Gloria Dean Edwards Jones, she was a homemaker and a member of the Full Gospel Evangelistic Church of Hayti.
On Feb. 23, 1954, she married Johnny Olden, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Cleo and Bobby Lee Jones; four brothers, John Jr., Richard, Ed and Walter Jones; eight sisters, Minnie Sykes, Pearlie Mae Mack, Alice Washington, Annie Sue Childress, Willie Lee, Sarah and Laura Jones and Emma Nelson and two grandchildren, Lashandra and Cortez Olden.
Survivors include one son, Richard Jones, of Hayti; one daughter, Johnnie Mae Whitaker, of Hayti; three brothers, Jesse Jones and wife, Lu, of Chicago, Ill., D. Jones, and Joe Bob Jones and wife, Shanrika, all of Hayti; one sister, Ruby Lee Jones, of Paducah, Ky.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Tuesday, June 27, at the Cedar Street Missionary Baptist Church with Elder David Covington officiating.
Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Joe Bob, Bud, Jamie and Walter Jones, Ricky Murray and William Townsend.
Honorary pallbearers were D. and Jesse Jones, Robert Peel and Calvin Nelson.
Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
