Born Dec. 28, 1948, in Octa, Mo., son of Walter Hourd, Sr., and the late Lillie Mae Flood Hourd, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and employed at Parker Hannifan Corp.
On July 12, 1986, in Kennett, he married Judy Ann Blankenship, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jonathan Eugene Hourd and wife, Michelle, of Kennett; two daughters, LaDonna Finch, of St. Louis and Brandy Renee Hourd, of Kennett; his father, Walter Hourd, Sr., of Kennett; three brothers, Walter Hourd, Jr., and Charles Hourd, both of Kennett and John Hourd, of St. Louis; three sisters, Charlie Miner, of Memphis, Tenn., Stella Benamaisia, of Revere, Mass., and Maggie Bryant, of St. Louis and one granddaughter, Gia Hourd.
He was preceded in death by one brother, James Green.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 24, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with Leo Reed officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
