Born July 2, 1923, in Gideon, Mo., son of the late Virgil and Iva Bertha Wallis Cooper, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in WWII. He was a minister, a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden and was employed at Cooper Ins.
On March 26, 1943, in Malden, he married Dortha June Fish, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Larry Cooper and wife, Sue, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one daughter, Saundra Jordan and husband, Al, of Hayti, Mo.; four grandchildren, Tisha Pybus, of England, Rachel Robison and Christy Sater, both of Poplar Bluff and Angela Williams, of Berryville, Ark., and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ruel and Norman Cooper and two sisters, Leah Button and Glessner Cooper.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Thursday, June 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 22, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. David L. Wigger and Howard Winberry officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery at Malden.
