Virginia Billington was employed by Film Transit, K.O.F.I., Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation (DAEOC) until her first retirement in 1991. Virginia then became a volunteer for Family Counseling Center at the CPRC program. Virginia was hired by The Green Thumb program where she worked until her second retirement. Virginia was an active member of the Kennett Housing Authority Board and DAEOC Board of Portageville. She also initiated many activities for her neighborhood. Every year Virginia enjoyed playing Santa Claus to all of her neighbors by walking door to door with her little red wagon and making sure that all knew they were special. She made a Neighbor to Neighbor Cookbook compiled from all of her neighbors in her senior citizen community which all seemed to enjoy. In 1997, Virginia was awarded the prestigious honor of being awarded the Dunklin County Community Service Award. Virginia was very proud of the honor and took the title seriously by doubling her efforts within her community. She volunteered where her efforts were needed. She found the true meaning of her life by helping others in their time of need. Virginia loved the Lord with all her heart and soul. Virginia's final prayer for all of her family and friends would be for everyone to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
