W. Sue Culp, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at Westwood Hills Health Care Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Aug. 16, 1923, in Dyer County, Tenn., daughter of the late Theodore Roosevelt "Bud" and Eliza Lou Cindy "Lula" Bishop Wheeler, she attended school in Dyer County, Tenn, and Pemiscot County, and was employed at Wal Mart. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
On Jan. 3, 1942, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Harold B. Culp, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Sandra Cooper, of Poplar Bluff and Deborah Pickett, of Cookeville, Tenn.; four sisters, Dorothy Brown, of Memphis, Tenn., Annie Lux, of Poplar Bluff, Joyce Simmons, of Blytheville, Ark., and Betty Fox, of Caruthersville; four grandchildren, Dana Redwine, Kim Uhl and Bryan Cooper, all of Poplar Bluff and Lauren Benson, of Nashville, Tenn., and 10 great-grandchildren, Michael, Kayla and Katie Redwine, Travis and Jessica Uhl, Dalton Cooper, Lindsey Wagner, and Veronica "V", Anna and Megan Benson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 10, at the Central Church of Christ in Caruthersville with Michael McDaniel officiating. Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Terry Uhl, Kenny, Chris and Dale Bullington, Michael Redwine and Stanley Pinkston.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
