Rev. Luster Starker

Rev. Luster Starker, 91, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at the Poplar Bluf Regional Medical Center at Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born on April 21, 1915, at Fueth, Ark., he was the son of the late George and Beth Danaiels Starker, and was the retired pastor of the Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Malden, Mo., and he was a retired railroad employee.

On October 3, 1982, he married Shirley Billingsley at Malden, Mo., who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Betty Filand, of Detroit, Mich., and Shirley Neely, of Chicago, Ill., one great-nephew, Sylvester Holloway, of Chicago, Ill., three step-daughters, Martha McCoy, of Chicago, Ill., Victoria Smith and husband, Bruce, of Marion, Ark., and Vanessa Howard and husband, Lovell, of West Memphis, Ark., two step-sons, Howard Ramey, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Charles Ramey, of Lavenworth, Kan., three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, 11 step-grandchildren, and several step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one niece, Ernestine Holloway.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2006 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 at the Landess Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Cleveland Brown officiating.

Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery at Malden, Mo.
