George Huffines

George Marshall Huffines, 81, of Hornersville, Mo., died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at his home.

Born June 23, 1924, a son of the late Henry Warren and Ethel Lorainne Haire Huffines, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of Hornersville Baptist Church and American Legion Post 162 at Hornersville. He worked for Gast Mfg. Co.

On Nov. 8, 1946 at Piggott, Ark., he married Maurine Greer who survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Beverly Janette Meader of Dowagic, Mich. and Debra Lynn Grosett of Hoschton, Ga.; three brothers, Edmund Huffines of Paragould, Curtis Huffines of Blytheville, Ark. and Leon Huffines of Hornersville; two sisters, Faye Tucker of Hollywood, Mo. and Lora Mae Gates of West Memphis, Ark. and an aunt, Edith Hamrick of Kennett; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at First Baptist Church at Hornersville with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Burial was in Horner Cemetery at Hornersville.

Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of services.
