Paul D. Jones, Sr., 55, of Kennett, formerly of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis from complications during heart surgery.

He was born Feb. 11, 1951, in Poplar Bluff to the late Clarence LeeRoy and Della (Sims) Jones. He had retired from management of the Kerasotes Theaters in Poplar Bluff and Kennett. Mr. Jones was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on old cars, and hunting and fishing. He also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

On June 26, 1971, he married Pamela Jane "Penny" Tuck, in Campbell. She survives.

Other survivors include his son, Paul David Jones, II and wife Charitie, of Kennett; a granddaughter, Katie Kimbrell, of Kennett; five sisters, Freda Johnson and husband Dwight, of Butler Hills, Mo., Midge Hamlett and Geraldine Griffith and husband Eddie and Tina Sadler and husband Bill, all of Poplar Bluff and Mary Eakes, of Qulin, Mo.; two brothers, Jack Jones and wife Jane, of Qulin and Donald "Muriel" Jones and wife Bobbie, of Poplar Bluff; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Tuck, of Poplar Bluff.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry Jones, C. L. "Jr." Jones, Dick Jones, Ronnie Jones and James Luther Jones as well as a twin sister and brother, Joyce Ann and Ned Jones.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at Cotrell Funeral Chapel, in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 4, in the funeral chapel, with Dr. Dick Murray officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Kinsey Cemetery, in Butler County.
