Lonie Anel "Nell" Greenway, 87, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born June 17, 1918, in Lenox, Tenn., daughter of the late Lonie and Rosa Ellen Kirk Killett, she was a graduate of Caruthersville High School, a homemaker and a member of the Cottonwood Point Baptist Church.
On Nov. 7, 1937, in Caruthersville, she married William Stanley Greenway, who preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 2000. She was also preceded in death by one son, William Stanley "Billy" Greenway, Jr.; one brother, R.L. "Buddy" Killett; three sisters, Ida Sue Wilks, Mary Emma Rogers and Lorene Williams and one grandson, Gabe Greenway Feutz.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Greenway and Kevin Greenway and wife, Karen, all of Caruthersville and Joe Franklin Greenway, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Mirra "Mary Nell" Greenway, of Columbia, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 26, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Robert and Henry Bolan, Nathan Hendricks, Larry Cowgill, Bobby Powell and Shannon Childester.
