Alverta Summers Sale Waltrip, 89, of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, May 7, 2006, at Jasper, Fla.
Born Jan. 28, 1917, in Kennett, daughter of the late Walter Franklin and Nancy Jane Williams Summers, she was a homemaker and a member of the Stanfield Baptist Church. She attended the First Assembly of God Church in Campbell.
On April 25, 1932, in Piggott, Ark., she married J.E. Sale, who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1973. She later married John Virgil Waltrip on July 2, 1977 at Clarkton, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1982. She was also preceded in death by three daughters, Betty Elizabeth McMillin, Margaret Ann Burleson and Martha Jane Sale; one son, James Henry Sale; one step-son, John Waltrip; three sisters, Palestine Welty, Mabel Reeves and Lucille Summers and four grandsons, Danny McMillin, Terry Lee and Paul Sale and Brian Burleson.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Joe Sale and wife, Peggy, of Newton, Ala., and David Franklin Sale and wife, Barbara, of Swartz Creek, Mich.; two daughters, Wilma Lou Sale Ezell and husband, Gary, of Jasper and Peggy Ellene Waltrip and husband, Jack, of Gaines, Mich.; one step-daughter, Mary Ann Isaacs, of Clarkton; two sisters, Rosetta Wayne, of Kennett and Mary Tucker, of Mackesney Park, Ill.; 36 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Friday, May 12, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 13, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jack Leathers and Randy Ezell officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
