Mildred Braswell, 70, of Dexter, Mo., died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.

Born Oct. 4, 1935, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of the late Elvin Aaron and Thelma Hamlett Sherwood, she was a homemaker and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Dexter.

On Feb. 5, 1955, in Hernando, Miss., she married J.D. Braswell, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Randy and Gregory Braswell, both of Dexter; two daughters, Janet Bingham, of Bloomfield, Mo., and Carol Braswell, of Cordova, Tenn.; Ralph Sherwood, of Tyler, Mo.; two sisters, Loretta Wells, of Caruthersville, Mo., and Mabel Benton, of Pahrump, Nev.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Maxine House.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., today, Tuesday, May 2, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel in Dexter with the Revs. Jim Hoyt and Lonnie Mittag officiating.

Burial was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
