Born March 17, 1929, in Montgomery City, Mo., son of the late Tazwell and Sarah Bishop Ham, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean War, a truck driver and a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wellsville, Mo., and the Montgomery City VFW #4436.
On Feb. 8, 1961, in St. Louis, Mo., he married Goldie Grosse, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Alan Ham and wife, Patricia, of Union, Mo., John Steven Ham and wife, Vicky, of Washington and Gary Ham, of Montgomery City; four daughters, Rita Freie and husband, Charles, of Middletown, Marcia Ham, of Florida, Patricia Stoner and husband, Tony, of Moberly, Mo., and Vanessa Gonzalez and husband, Michael, of Montgomery City; one brother, John Ham, of Hallsville, Mo.; one sister, Ruth Magnum, of Palm City, Fla.; a grandson, Travis Bernard, of Iraq; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 24, at the Baker-Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home in New Florence, Mo. with the Rev. Douglas Good officiating.
Burial was in the Montgomery City Cemetery.
