Gerald Wayne Bethune, 62, of Caruthersville, Mo. died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at his residence.
Born Jan. 23, 1944, in Campbell, Mo., son of the late Noble and Martha Redfairn Bethune, he attended Portageville School and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Martin. He was a teacher and coach at Caruthersville school system and currently at Hayti school system and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Caruthersville.
On Feb. 7, 1969, in Jasper, Ala., he married Cindy Crysler, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Lee Bethune and wife, Kara Lee, of Caruthersville and Scott Bethune and wife, Anne, of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Anna Jayne Bethune, of Jackson, Miss., and four grandchildren, Kassidy Lee Bethune, of Caruthersville and Brett, Brooke and Brogan Bethune, all of Kansas City.
Private services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dr. Kirwin Stewart and Rev. Dr. Paul Currie officiating.
