Area churches come together in relief efforts for tornado victims in Caruthersville and Braggadocio, Mo. [Click to enlarge]

Saturday, April 8 the Slicer Street Church of Christ in coopreration with the Senath Church of Christ distributed several tons of useful items to disaster victims in Caruthersville and Braggadocio, Missouri. These churches are supporters of Churches of Christ Disaster Relief whose distribution point is Nashville, Tennessee.

The large semi-truck which arrived early on Saturday morning was filled with food, bedding, cleaning supplies and various other items valued at more that $80,000.00. When the truck was emptied, most of the items were transferred to pick-up trucks and carried by members of the church to Caruthersville and Braggadocio. A portion of the truckload is stored at the Slicer Street church for further distribution this week. The operation was directed by Greg Pollock, minister of the Senath church of Christ; Spencer Furby, minister of the Slicer Street church and Jeff Bridges, elder in the Slicer Street church. About 20 volunteers from both churches assisted in the downloading and distribution.
