Whitson Louis Wagner, 83, of Pocahontas, Ark., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Randolph County Nursing Center in Pocahontas.

Born April 27, 1922, in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of the late Clarence S. "Clint" and Margaret Jane Baker Wagner, he was a U.S. veteran of WWII, a farmer and a mechanic.

Survivors include four children, David Louis Wagner, of Ravenna, Ohio, William Louis Wagner, of Pocahontas, Regina Briggs, of Biggers, Ark., and Diane Montgomery, of Ravenden Springs, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Nave, of Steele, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 12, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti, Mo., with Bro. Doug Wahls officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were Thomas Hufstedler, Keath Morrison, Rick Nave, Michael Russell, Gerry Thompson and William Wagner.
