Born May 4, 1926, in Campbell, Mo., son of the late Jim and Lessie Hope Scholes, he was a 1943 graduate of Malden High School and a U.S.. Navy veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict. He was employed at Cotton Belt/Southern Pacific Railroad, a Mason and a member of the Sahara Shriners and Jacob Brump Lodge No. 160.
Survivors include one son, Tim Scholes, of White Hall, Ark.; one daughter, Anna May, of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Carl Scholes, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Harry Scholes, of California and six grandchildren, Alex, Jessie and Nicholas Scholes, all of White Hall and Stephanie, Gracie and Tabitha May, all of Pine Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Daisy Rose Scholes; one brother, J.C. Scholes and one sister, Juanita Kirby.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 13, at the Cranford Funeral Home Chapel in White Hall with Ben Long officiating.
