Mable Lack

Mackie Mable Lack, 96, of Caruthersville, Mo., formerly of Braggadocio, Mo., died Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Caruthersville.

Born March 18, 1910, in Savannah, Tenn., daughter of the late Arch and Rose Lutes Austin, she was of the Methodist faith.

In 1925, in Savannah, she married Sam Lack, who preceded her in death in 1968. She was also preceded in death by eight children, Johnny, Dee, Otis Fay, Sam Jr., Archie, Steven and Janice Gail Lack and Geneva Poe and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include six children, Bobbie White, of Caruthersville, Jo Pugh, of Steele, Mo., Jack Dempsey Lack and Carole Hornsby, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo., McAuther Lack, of Sacramento, Calif., and Harry Lack, of Woodville, Ala.; one sister, Zoobie Tidwell and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Mike Hargraves officiating.

Burial was in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were family members.
