Joel "Joe" Williams, 50, of Florida, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006.
Born in Kennett, son of Joel Lee Williams, Sr., and Nellie Cates, he was a 1974 graduate of Mount Clemens, Mich. High School and a 2001 graduate of the Florida Department of Corrections. He was employed as a corrections officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institute in Milton, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lee Williams; step-daughters, Savannah and Tabitha; father and step-mother, Joel Lee, Sr., and Sherry Williams, of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; mother and step-father, Nellie and Carlton Cates, of Navarre, Fla., brothers, Ronald James Williams and wife, Jenna, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Donald John Williams and wife, Lynda, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Stanley Dale Williams and Jason Lee Williams, both of Ft. Walton Beach and sisters, Paula Fayes Reusch, Debra Gaye Headley and Teresa Kaye Chandler, all of Ft. Walton Beach and Melinda Jo Thomen and husband, Don and Autumn Renee Keele and husband, Riley, all of Russellville, Ark.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, April 7, at the Rose Lawn Funeral Home in Gulf Breeze, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, at the Gulf Breeze Church of Christ with Minister Chris Pinney officiating.
Burial will follow in the Rose Lawn Cemetery.
