Elsa Faulkner

Elsa Faulkner, 91, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare and Rehab in Malden.

Born Oct. 19, 1914, in Lexington, Tenn., daughter of the late James and Viola Rhodes Petty, she was a school teacher, member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, MRTA and AARP. She served as a representative of the Silver Haired Legislature, served on the Dunklin County Transient Board and Area Agency on Aging and volunteered for RSVP and the Bootheel Youth Museum.

On April 4, 1937, she married Leland Odell Faulkner, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James Earl and William E. Petty and one sister, Exie Dickerson.

Survivors include one son, Mitchell Faulkner, of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandsons, Benjamin, Abraham and Jacob Faulkner, all of Jefferson City and a sister-in-law, Betty Petty, of Arbyrd, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, April 3, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Dr. Bill Jackson officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath, Mo.
