Born May 15, 1947, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Winford and Pauline Cain Carver, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/1960 Device, Combat Infantryman Badge (1st Award), Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, (1 OLC), Air Medal, One Overseas Bar and Expert (M-16) Sharpshooter (M-14).
Survivors include one son, Brian Carver, of Kennett; one daughter, Andrea Reynolds, of Jenks, Okla.; four brothers, Max Carver and Ray Van Carver, both of Bragg City, Danny Carver, of Chicago, Ill., and Jack Carver, of Woodriver, Ill.; three sisters, Becky Harris, of Senath, Mo., Janie Meredith, of Hazelwood, Mo., and Martha Crafton, of Kennett; longtime companion, Dorothy Killion, of Poplar Bluff and four grandchildren, James John Reynolds, of Jenks, and Gabrielle Carver, Luke Cain Carver and Raven Wilson, all of Kennett.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 26, in the Pemiscot Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Caruthersville, Mo., with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
