Marion Eberhard Downing, 92, of Malden, Mo., died Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Beverly Healthcare in Malden, Mo.
Born March 31, 1913, in Clarence, Mo., daughter of the late Albin and Maybell Combs Eberhard, she was a school teacher, having taught in Malden and St. Louis, Mo. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Malden Methodist Church, Central Methodist College Alumni Association, Enoch Ashley Chapter of the D.A.R. and a former Cub Scout leader.
On June 3, 1943, in Langley Field, Va., she married John Andrew Downing, Sr., who survives.
Survivors also include one son, John Andrew Downing, Jr., and wife, Carol, of Malden; two daughters, Anne Downing, of San Antonio, Texas and Martha Twist and husband, Rick, of Rogers, Ark.; one sister, Elinor Myers, of Chelsea, Vt.; four grandchildren, Molly Twist, of Dallas, Texas, Andrew Twist, of Bentonville, Ark., and Susan NcCormick and Meredith Garris, both of Malden and three great-grandchildren, Lexie and Ashley Lambott and Kailee Garris.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Eberhard.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., today, March 28, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.
Burial was in the Park Cemetery at Malden.
