Adam Lee Whitson, 80, of Kennett, Missouri, formerly of Holcomb, Missouri, died Friday, March 24, 2006, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Missouri.
Born October 10, 1925, in Holcomb, Missouri, he was the son of the late Adam Lee and Odie Whitson. He was a member of the DAV and the American Legion. He was a carpenter. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
On August 8, 1946, he was married to the late Thelma Mae Elmore in Piggott, Arkansas.
Survivors include seven sons, Charles Whitson and wife, Phyliss, of Tacoma, Wash., Dean Whitson and wife, Gay, of Fredericktown, Missouri, Adam Lee Whitson III and wife, Debbie, of Kennett, Missouri, Darrell Whitson of Fredericktown, Missouri, Dennis Whitson and David Whitson, both of Kennett, Missouri, and Larry Paul Whitson and wife, Dana, of Stillwater, Okla., three daughters, Mary Winston and husband, Robbie, of Kennett, Missouri, Linda Killian of Kennett, Missouri, and Kathy Garver and husband, Richard, of Quilin, Missouri, 19 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Larry Whitson Jr., one daughter, Carolyn Whitson, and one grandson, Travis Whitson.
Visitation services will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, March 25, 2006, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri with the Rev. Charles James and Bro. Bobby Lyell officiating.
Burial will be at the Pine City Cemetery.
