Winford Hershel Woodall, Sr., 79, of Kennett, formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
Born Oct. 15, 1926, in Houston, Miss., son of the late Charles and Bessie Crayne Woodall, he was a farmer and a truck driver and of the Pentecostal faith.
On May 10, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married Velma Wheeling, who preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 2004. He married Gertrude Tweedy on May 9, 1960, in Centralia, Ill., who preceded him in death on Nov. 2, 1990. He was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Winford Woodall; one daughter, Velvetta Woodall Brown; two brothers, Rufus and Junior Woodall and one sister, Betty Coleman.
Survivors include two sons, Butch Woodall and wife, Gina, of Potossi, Mo., and Winfred Woodall and wife, Lisa, of Clarkton, Mo.; one step-son, Leonard Whited, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; six daughters, Peggy Steward and husband, Art, of Pumpkin Center, Mo., Lois Meier Woodall, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Patsy Weaver and husband, Donald and Deronda Woodall Greer, all of Holcomb, Mo., Paula Davis, of Russellville, Ala., and Jeannie Steward and husband, William, of Conway, S.C.; one sister, Mary Hurst and husband, Hugh, of Jasper, Ala.; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., today, Friday, March 24, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. John Keel and Patsy Weaver officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
