Geneva Norma Adams, 84, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.
Born April 3, 1921, in Miller, Miss., daughter of the late William and Mary Rosanna Adams, she was a 1939 graduate of Steele High School and a chef.
In 1947, she married M.C. Baker. She later married George Harvey, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Rosanna McGregor.
Survivors include nine children, Maxine Dowdy and husband, Steve and Earnestine Robinson and husband, Jesse, all of Memphis, Rosalyn Baker and husband, Terrence, LaVern Robinson, George Harvey, Jr., Jonathan Adams and Dennis Adams and wife, Shirley, all of St. Louis, Mo., Marilyn Sullivan, of Hayti and James Harvey and wife, Joann, of Kennett; 20 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Cedar Street Baptist Church in Hayti with Pastor Paul A. Harden, Sr. officiating.
Burial was in the Magnolia Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Neil Ainsworth, Clinton and Myrain Baker, Frederick Harvey, Rudolph "Rudy" Richard, Jermain, Lorenzo and Tredwick Robinson.
Honorary pallbearers were Dennis and Jonathan Adams, Jesse Davis, George Harvey, Jr., and James E. Harvey.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
