Born May 16, 1934, in Gilman, son of the late Joseph and Marie Reilly Krones, he was a U.S. Army veteran, manufacturing supervisor for UARCO in Kennett and a member of St. Martins Catholic Church in Kankakee. He was a Knight of Columbus in the 4th Degree.
On June 3, 1961, in Gilman, he married Patricia Lake, who preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2000. He later married Sandy K. Busch Lux on Sept. 15, 2001, in Manteno, who survives.
Survivors also include three sons, Vincent Krones, of Kankakee, Douglas Krones and wife, Kris, of Chatham, Ill., and Timothy Krones, of Bradley, Ill; one daughter, Elizabeth Krones, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three step-sons, Bill Lux and wife, Jo Ann, of Indianapolis, Ind., Eric Lux, of Kankakee and Matthew Lux and wife, Cassidy, of Aroma Park.; five brothers, Thomas Krones and wife, Lois, of Chenoa, Ill., Eugene Krones and wife, Betty, of Hardy, Ark., Leo Krones and wife, Sal, of Lawrence, Kan., Steven Krones and wife, Patty, of Chatsworth, Ill., and Jim Krones and wife, Judy, of Watseka, Ill.; three sisters, Mary Ann Anstett, of Plymouth, Ind., Helen Bruens and husband, Eugene, of Watseka, Ill., and Kathy Manahan and husband, Bob, of Gilman and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 6, at the Immaculate Conception Church with the Revs. John Balluff and Lee Ryan officiating.
Burial with full military rites was in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Gilman.
