Jerome V. Krones, 71, of Kankakee, Ill., died Friday, March 3, at the Provena St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee.
Born May 16,1934, son of the late Joseph and Marie Reilly Krones. He was a manufacturing supervisor for UARCO in Watseka, Ill., Eupora, Miss. and Kennett, Mo.
He retired in 1998 after 47 years with the company. He was a member of the St. Martins Catholic Church in Kankakee and a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Gilman. He was a Knight of Columbus in the fourth degree and served in the U.S. Army for four years.
On June 3, 1961, in Gillman, Ill., he married Patricia Lake, who preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2000.
On September 15, 2001, he married Sandy K. Busch Lux, who survives the home.
Other survivors include, three sons; Vincent Krones of Kankakee, Douglas Krones and wife, Kris, of Chatham, Ill., and Timothy Krones of Bradley, Ill.; one daughter, Elizabeth Krones, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; three stepsons; Bill Lux and wife, Jo Ann, of Indianappolis, Ind., Eric Lux, of Kankakee and Matthew Lux and wife, Cassidy, of Aroma Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren; five brothers; Thomas Krones and wife Lois, of Chenoa, Ill., Eugene Krones and wife, Betty, of Hardy, Ark., Leo Krones and wife, Sal, of Lawrence, Kan., Steven Krones and wife, Patty, of Chatsworth, Ill., Jim Krones and wife, Judy, of Watseka, Ill.; three sisters; Mary Ann Anstett, of Plymoth, Ind., Helen Bruens and husband Eugene, of Watseka, and Kathy Manahan and husband Bob, of Gilman, Ill.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, March 5, at the Rendenlus Funeral Home.
His funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 6, at the Immaculate Conception Church with Rev John Balluff and Rev. Lee Ryan officiating.
