Born July 16, 1930, in Bucoda, Mo., son of the late William M. Smith and Edith Burcham, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Korea.
On May 3, 1951, he married Claudia Marie Hufford, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Tony Smith and wife, Patricia and Tracy Smith and wife, Regina, all of Kennett; two brothers, Wayne Smith, of Troy, Mo., and C.M. Smith, of Kennett; two sisters, Mavis Hufford, of Arbyrd, Mo., and Wanda Herrington, of Bloomsdale, Mo.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy C.M. Smith, and one grandchild, Sara Nagina Smith.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Pollock officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers are Harold Watson, Charles Crawford, Percy Jefferson, Charles Parker, Byron Small and George Jordan.
Honorary pallbearers are Orville Burcham, Dickie Karnes, Mark Goddard and members of the American Legion Post 303 of Senath, Mo.
