Lillian Gladys Clayton, 96, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2006, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
Born Feb. 12, 1910, in Cullman, Ala., daughter of the late Talmer Alphus and Harriet Abercrombie Barfoot, she was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden, Mo.
On Jan. 18, 1927, in Parma, Mo., she married Joseph W. Clayton, who preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 1970. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Etheleen Campbell, Ernestine Swiderski, Dessie Jones and Eunice Dean and two brothers, Paul and Clark Barfoot.
Survivors include one daughter, Pauline Fleudelys, of Cape Girardeau; one son, Gene Clayton and wife, Shelby, of Del City, Okla.; one sister, Edna Bentley, of Gideon, Mo.; two brothers, Millard Barfoot, of Kansas City, Kan. and Huitt Barfoot, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter Dale Clayton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
