Raymond Ira Archer, 80, of Kennett, Mo. died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at his residence.
Born October 14, 1925, in McNairy County, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ira and Ottoleane Siler Archer. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
On November 27, 1964, he married Betty Traylor, who survives.
Survivors include two step-sons, Mason A. Cook Jr. of Murray, Kent., and Jonathan C Cook of Austin, Texas, one step-daughter, Judith Ann Williams of Kennett, Mo., four brothers, Charles Archer of Kennett, Mo., George Archer of Kennett, Mo., Finis Archer of Redding, Cali., and Drew Archer of Bragg City, Mo., four sisters, Dora Brady, of Arizona City, Arizona, Amy Ruth Pierce of Springfield, Mo., Ophelia Pierce of Springfield, Mo., and Mary Nell Kennedy of Fordland, Mo., six step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jewell Pierce, and two in infancy.
Visitation was from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Mo.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Feb. 26, at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Mo. with the Rev. Spencer Furby officiating.
Burial was at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Mo.
Pallbearers included David Cook, Gaylon Mullins, Michael Archer, Rick Knox, Bryan Gore, and Rick Gore.
