Born Oct. 17, 1934, son of the late J.O. and Lois Pitts Shrum, he was a U.S. Navy veteran, former coach and teacher and a member of the Senath Church of Christ.
On Sept. 24, 1954, in Cardwell, Mo., he married Jean Srum, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Larry and wife, Tina, of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Donnie Shrum, of Senath, Mo.; three sisters, Mollie Obards, of Torrence, Calif., Corretha Stone, of Carson, Calif., and Lois Twigg, of Florida and his mother-in-law, Thelma Srum, of Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath, Mo., with the Gary Renfrow and Greg Pollock officiating.
Burial was in the Cardwell Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Don Kitchens, Glen Kitchens, Lonnie Cooper, Charles Anderson, George Beacham, Don Ozbun, Jim Burgess and Larry Petty.
Honorary pallbearers were Home Whitehead, Steve Harris, Charles Parker, Byron Small, C.M. Smith, Lee Meredith, Denny Haddock and Dennis Autry.
Memorials may be made to the Paragould Children's Home or the Cardwell Cemetery.
