Born Aug. 13, 1928, in McDougal, Ark., son of the late Sam and Kate Masters, he was a U.S. Navy veteran and employed at McDonnell Douglas in Las Angeles, Calif.

In 1948, he married Mary Lou Brashers, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Stephen; two daughters, Denise and Valerie; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

McDonalds Chapel in Redding was in charge of arrangements.
