Maurice S. "Sonny" Simrell, 71, of Wardell, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at his residence.

Born July 28, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., son of the late Aaron and Della Broderick Simrell, he attended school in Orland Park, Ill., and was a carpenter and a cement finisher.

Survivors include two children, Laura Kay and Mark Robert; one brother, Ronald B. Simrell and wife, Janet, of Garfield, Ark., and four nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, Mo., with the Rev. Bob Miller officiating.
