Charles Cooper

Charles Dee Cooper, 83, of Williamsville, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Born Oct. 18, 1922, in Holcomb, Mo., son of the late John Lonzo Cooper and Marzella Elizabeth Riddle, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served in WWII. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

On Nov. 2, 1946, in Piggott, Ark., he married Helen Maretta Sutton, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, James Cooper, of Williamsville and William Cooper, of Wentzville, Mo.; one sister, Jettie Lee Bailey, of Florida; six grandchildren, Teresa L. Cooper, of Williamsville, Wesly C. Cooper, of Silex, Mo., Bradly J. Cooper, of Wentzville and Robbie, Austin and Amanda Caudel, all of Poplar Bluff and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by nine brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Second Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff with the Rev. Luther Abbott officiating.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell is in charge of arrangements.
