Rev. Joe Wayne Lacy, 71, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at Kennett.

Born March 12, 1934, in Kennett, son of Flossie McCormick Lacy and the late Edward Lacy, he was a U.S. Army veteran.

On Nov. 28, 1958, in Kennett, he married Shirley Holmes, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one daughter, Janet Payne and husband, John, of Kennett, his mother, Flossie Lacy, of Kennett; one brother, John Lacy, of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Wanda Baird, of Dexter, Mo.; three grandchildren, Jonathan Ferrell and Amanda Kay and James William Clements and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Lacy.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Jan. 27, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dave Million officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Randy Caldwell, Bruce Miller, Chris Holmes, Perry Wayne, Frank Twitchell and Ben Holder.

Honorary pallbearers were Gary Beard, Randy Barton, Gary Gilbreath, Billy Tansil, Joey Roper and Matt Roper.
