Gilbert S. Shaw, 84, of Risco, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon.

Born on March 16, 1921, in Parma, Mo., he was the son of the late Harvey and Maggie Ford Shaw. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Tallapoosa, Mo.

On April 23, 1941, he married Selma Lorene Cole, who preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2002.

Survivors include two daughters, Ava King and husband, Jim, of Gideon, Mo. and Mary Eleanor Metcalf of Michigan, one sister, Marilyn Ivy of New Madrid, Mo., two grandsons, Byron Metcalf, Jr., of Michigan, and John DaVault, of St. Louis, Mo., and one great-granddaughter, Audrey Marie DaVault, of St. Louis, Mo.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., today, Sunday, Jan. 22, at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 23, at the Landess Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. William E. Small officiating.

Burial will be at the Oak Ridge Cemetary in Kennett.
