Vernie Pauline Lack, 83, of Piggott, Ark., died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born Sept. 16, 1922, in Williford, daughter of the late James and Nora Wilkerson Ratliff, she was a homemaker and of the Church of Christ faith.
On Oct. 23, 1943, she married Doise Lack, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, James Lack and wife, Sharlene, of Kennett; one daughter, Dian Herren and husband, Doug, of Corning, Ark., and three grandchildren, Tessa Lack, Melody French and Brian Herren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Millard Ratliff and four sisters, Florence, Flossie, Irene Jane and Willie Marie Ratliff.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Piggott with Brother Jerry Cook officiating.
Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hardin Hill, Newton Wells, Jr., Sidney Hollis, Brian Herren and Michael French.
