James Hooten

James Franklin Hooten, 53, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, at Malden.

Born Feb. 5, 1952, in Kennett, he was the son of the late Lewis and Ruby Smith Hooten.

He married Dorothy Carlstrom, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Billy Hooten, of Olathe, Kan., and Matt Hooten, of Malden; two step-sons, Tim Cecil, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Brian Cecil, of Dexter, Mo.; one step-daughter, Kristina Cecil, of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Floyd Hooten, of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one sister, Rita Kennedy, of Holcomb and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, George Hooten.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 13, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Blagg officiating.

Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.

Pallbearers will be Rod Dill, Larry Gee, Jarrett Bullock, Weldon Wallace, Travis Burnett and Todd Watson.
