James Sidney Michie, 63, formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at Blanchette Place in St. Charles, Mo.

Born June 17, 1942, in Caruthersville, son of Virginia Irene Corington Michie and the late Albert Sidney Michie, he graduated from Caruthersville High School and the University of Missouri School of Engineering. He was a member of the Eastwood Memorial United Methodist Church and a member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers.

Survivors include one son, Erik Michael Michie, of Lancaster, Calif.; one brother, Charles Michie, of Memphis, Tenn., and one sister, Marilyn Foster, of Van Buren, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Family members served as pallbearers.
