Raymond Jordan

Raymond William Lee Jordan, 93, of Bertrand, Mo., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at his residence.

Born Dec. 3, 1912, in Kennett, son of the late William T. and Pearl Mae Ford Jordan, he worked for Penzel Construction.

On Nov. 25, 1939, in Caruthersville, he married Bula Mae Hindmon, who survives.

Survivors also include three children, William Thomas "Bill" Jordan and wife, Linda, of Sikeston, Mo., and Betty Gene Sewell and Jerry R. Jordan and wife, Shirley, all of Bertrand; one brother, E. D. Jordan, of Hemit, Calif.,; two sisters, Geraldine Matlock, of Bragg City, Mo., and Mary Williams, of Pekin, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Paula Jordan, of Caruthersville, Donnie Jordan, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Randy Jordan, of Mississippi, Kevin Jordan, of Fruitland, Mo., Steven Jordan, of Oran, Mo., Marcy Sewell, of Morehouse, Mo., Kathy Thomason, of Chaffee, Mo., Frank Sewell, of Sikeston, Tabitha Sewell, of Miner, Mo., and Jeromy and Jennifer Jordan, both of Bertrand; 18 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother and two sisters, Delphin Going and Flossie Singleton.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 12, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti, Mo. with Brother Jim Askew officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Jeromy, Donnie, Randy, Kevin and Steven Jordan and Frank Sewell.
