Zona Pullam

Zona T. Pullam, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.

Born March 19, 1919, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of the late S.A. and Vinnie Biggs Tucker, she attended Speer School and was employed at Graber's, J.C. Penney and Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church.

On July 8, 1938, she married Levey Denton Pullam, who preceded her in death on April 17, 1973. She was also preceded in death by seven sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Rebecca Frederick and husband, Dwight, of Raleigh, Miss., Evelyn Douglas and husband, Charles, of Pelham, Ala., and Linda Oliver and husband, Wayne, of San Antonio, Texas; two sons, Danny Pullam, of Idaho Springs, Colo., and Joe Pullam and wife, Barbara, of Caruthersville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dr. James Adams officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were David Frederick, Lawrence Friesenhahn, Denny Pullam, Ronnie Price, Michael Kaminski and Wil F. Rodriguez.
